Municipal Election FAQs

What does 'municipal election' mean?

Municipalities are cities or towns, and municipal elections are local elections for your city's elected officials and charter amendments, if there are any up for election that year. Local elections have a much more direct impact on your day-to-day life than federal elections!

Am I eligible to vote in this election?

The following municipalities will be having an election on March 14, 2023:

  • City of Maitland
    • Council seat 4
    • Charter amendments
  • City of Ocoee
    • Mayor
    • City Commissioner districts 1 and 3

To be eligible to vote you must live within the city limits of one of the above municipalities. Depending on the municipality and the positions up for election, you may also need to live within a specific district of the city. Please note it is possible for your address to show one of the above cities but for you to still live outside the city's limits, and therefore not be eligible to vote in this upcoming election.

To check if you live within city limits, visit the the Check My Info page or contact us!

Do I vote in the same place I voted in the last election?

Your municipal election polling place may not be the same as where you've voted before because of redistricting changes and because municipal precincts are different from Orange County precincts. Be sure to double-check your correct polling place for this election so you go to the right place the first time!
