Notice of Public Test of Tabulation Equipment

NOTICE OF PUBLIC TEST OF VOTE TABULATING EQUIPMENT

Pursuant to F.S. §101.5612(2), the Supervisor of Elections shall have the automatic tabulating equipment publicly tested to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the votes cast for the Office of Interim District 5 Commissioner for the City of Orlando. Testing of equipment to be used on Election Day, during Early Voting, and to tabulate Vote-by-Mail ballots will be held on the dates and times given below.

Testing will be conducted at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office 119 West Kaley Street, Orlando, Florida. All members of the public are encouraged to attend.

2024 SPECIAL ELECTION FOR INTERIM COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 5 CITY OF ORLANDO MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS TEST DATE:

May 2, 2024 at 9 a.m. for the Special Election

June 6, 2024 at 9 a.m. for the Run-Off Election, if necessary

In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, these meetings will be open to the public.

NOTE: Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, states that if a person decides to appeal any decision by a board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), if any person with a disability, as defined by the ADA, needs special accommodation to participate in this proceeding, then not later than two business days prior to the proceeding, he or she should contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at 407-836-2070.

NOTIFICACIÓN DE PRUEBA PÚBLICA DEL EQUIPO PARA TABULAR VOTOS

Conforme con la sección 101.5612(2) de los Estatutos del estado de la Florida, la oficina del Supervisor de Elecciones hará que el equipo de tabulación automática sea probado públicamente para determinar que el equipo reflejará correctamente los votos emitidos para el cargo de comisionado interino del Distrito 5 para la Ciudad de Orlando. Las pruebas del equipo que se utilizara el día de las elecciones, durante el voto temprano y para tabular las boletas de voto por correo, se llevaran a cabo en las fechas y horas que se indican a continuación.

Las pruebas se realizarán en la oficina del Supervisor del Elecciones del Condado Orange, oficina 119 West Kaley Street Orlando, FL. Invitamos a todos los miembros del público a asistir.

Junio 6, 2024 a las 9 a.m. para la elección de segunda vuelta, si fuera necesario

De acuerdo con la Ley “Sunshine” de la Florida, ésta reunión estará abierta al público.

NOTA: La Sección 286.0105 de los Estatutos de Florida, indica que, si una persona decide apelar cualquier decisión de una junta, agencia o comisión con respecto a cualquier asunto considerado en una reunión o audiencia, dicha persona necesitará un acta de las deliberaciones, y que, para tal propósito necesita asegurarse de que se haga una transcripción literal de los procedimientos, los cuales incluyen los testimonios y la evidencia sobre los cuales se basa la apelación.

De acuerdo con el Acta de Americanos con Discapacidades, (ADA por sus siglas en inglés), cualquier persona con discapacidad, como define el ADA, que requiera asistencia especial para participar en éste procedimiento, debe contactar a la Oficina del Supervisor de Elecciones al 407-836-2070, a más tardar, dos días hábiles antes del procedimiento.
