Why did I receive this?
You are a registered voter in Orange County and F.S. 98.065 requires the Supervisor of Elections to verify the accuracy of your voter registration record by incorporating a list maintenance program. The notice is sent to confirm that the address we have on file is still accurate and current. It provides the Supervisor of Elections office an opportunity to identify voter registration records with change of address from a voter’s response or from mail identified as undeliverable by the United States Postal Service.
Who will receive this?
Every Orange County registered voter will receive a notice at the address the office has on file. The notices will be mailed in batches over a two-week period during the month of September.
Is the reply postage prepaid?
Reply postage is prepaid by the Supervisor of Elections' office. No stamps or additional postage are required to complete and return this mailer.
Why do I need to update my legal residential address?
Your residential address is important and determines what precinct you reside in. This ensures you are placed in the correct precinct for voting.
If you have a mailing address that differs from your residential address, both should be updated and kept current with the elections office.
You may use any address as your mailing address, but the address you claim to reside at must be a valid residential address.
Is there a deadline to reply?
There is no deadline to reply; however, the sooner the better!
Will the signature I use on this address confirmation request be utilized as a signature on file with your office?
No, but it will be compared to what is already on file to ensure it was signed by the voter.
Can I update my party affiliation on this form?
No. This form is only for confirming or updating your address. Party changes must be submitted through a voter registration application.
Can I update my name on this form?
No. This form is only for confirming or updating your address. Name changes must be submitted through a voter registration application.
What if I accidentally throw it away?
If the notice is misplaced or discarded, you may contact the Supervisor of Elections office at (407) 836-8683 (VOTE) to confirm your information is accurate and current or to request your address be updated if your address has changed. You can also update your information online.
I already updated my address online or at the DMV. Do I still need to fill this out?
Yes, returning this notice will help us confirm your information is accurate and current for voting purposes.
What if I’ve moved to another county or state?
- If you have moved within Florida, update your voter registration record in your new county of residence.

What happens if I don’t respond?
While we encourage all voters to respond, failing to do so will not impact your ability to vote. However, you should be aware that your status as an active voter may change over time.
- Active Status: a registered voter who has either voted, updated their registration record or has requested a vote by mail ballot within the last two general elections.
- Inactive Status: a registered voter who has not had any contact with the Supervisor of Elections office (like voting, updating their voter registration record, or requesting a vote by mail ballot) over the last two general elections and has not responded to an address confirmation final notice. An inactive voter may still vote. To be restored to an active status, the voter may contact our office to confirm their address of legal residence, update their address of legal residence if it has changed or confirm their address of legal residence when requesting a vote by mail ballot.
I voted by mail in 2024; do I need to request a mail ballot again?
Most likely, yes. A 2021 Florida law requires all vote-by-mail requests to expire at the end of each major election cycle (presidential or gubernatorial). You’ll need to submit a new request on or after January 1 following the last major federal election. Many voters don’t realize their previous request may have expired.
